Mr. Joshua Arnoldy (2018)

Joshua Arnoldy is currently a Music Composition student at Kansas State University. He grew up in Downs, KS, a rural town in North Central Kansas. His love for music began in middle school after beginning to play the saxophone.

In high school, Joshua expanded his playing through every opportunity that presented itself. He was a member of the District Honor Jazz Band and District Honor Concert Band all four years. Joshua was selected for the Kansas All-State Honor Concert Band for three years, and sat as the principal saxophonists for one year. He also presented solo works for regional and state competitions, receiving the highest distinctions each year.

Joshua has and continues to participate in several ensembles at Kansas State University, including the Golden Apple Saxophone Quartet, Woodwind Ensemble, University Band, KSU Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Wind Ensemble. In these ensembles, Joshua has played all of the four major saxophones, clarinet, and flute.

As a soloist, Joshua currently studies saxophone under the direction of Dr. Anna Marie Wytko. You can find recordings of his and other notable saxophone works here. Joshua also studies composition under the supervision of Dr. Craig Weston. Joshua is a developing composer with a variety of works written and available for purchase.

Mr. Joshua Arnoldy anticipates graduating from Kansas State University in the Spring of 2019 with a bachelor's degree focused in Music Composition with Minors in Business. He hopes to pursue Graduate School in Music, continuing his career as a composer and performer.

Aside from Music, Joshua is an active alumnus of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) often volunteering and presenting at the state level, Kansas FCCLA. Joshua is an active alumnus of the Kansas State Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity. He is currently serving as the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Student Senate in the Kansas State University Student Governing Association. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, and collecting a plethora of DVD's.
