Mr. Joshua Arnoldy (2018)

Joshua Arnoldy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition from Kansas State University and is in pursuit of a Master’s degree in Music Composition from the University of Houston. He grew up in Downs, KS, a rural town in North Central Kansas. His love for music began in middle school after beginning to play the saxophone.

Joshua participated in several ensembles at Kansas State University, including the Golden Apple Saxophone Quartet, Woodwind Ensemble, University Band, KSU Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Wind Ensemble. In these ensembles, Joshua has played all of the four major saxophones, clarinet, and flute.

As a soloist, Joshua currently studied saxophone under the direction of Dr. Anna Marie Wytko. You can find recordings of his and other notable saxophone works here.

Joshua has studied composition under composers Dr. Craig Weston and Dr. Rob Smith. Joshua is a developing composer with a variety of works written and available for purchase.

At the basis of his career, he considers himself a storyteller. He draws inspiration from several sources including nature, artwork, and literature. Mostly, Joshua hopes to share stories and emotion directly from the human experience.

Aside from Music, Joshua also enjoys creating other art forms. He often writes poetry and is in the process of authoring his first novel.

He has an active history of participating and serving in community and academic organizations. Joshua is an active alumnus of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) often volunteering and presenting at the state level, Kansas FCCLA. Joshua is an active alumnus of the Kansas State Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity.
