Joshua Arnoldy holds a Bachelor’s of Music from Kansas State University and is in pursuit of a Master’s of Music in composition from the University of Houston. He grew up in Downs, KS, a rural town in North Central Kansas. His love for music began in middle school after beginning to play the saxophone.

Joshua participated in several ensembles at Kansas State University, including the Golden Apple Saxophone Quartet, Woodwind Ensemble, University Band, KSU Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Wind Ensemble. In these ensembles, Joshua has performed on saxophone and conducted.

As a soloist, Joshua studied saxophone under the direction of Dr. Anna Marie Wytko.

Joshua has studied composition under composers Dr. Craig Weston and Dr. Rob Smith. Joshua is a developing composer with a variety of works written and available for purchase.

At the basis of his career, he considers himself a storyteller. He draws inspiration from several sources including nature, artwork, and literature. Joshua hopes to share stories and emotion directly from the human experience.

Aside from music, Joshua also enjoys creating other art forms. He often writes poetry and is in the process of authoring his first novel.

He has an active history of participating and serving in community and academic organizations. Joshua is an active alumnus of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) often volunteering and presenting at the state level, Kansas FCCLA. He served in Kansas State University’s Student Governing Association as a Student Senator and as the Speaker Pro Tempore. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, playing video games, and collecting a plethora of DVD's.
